STEP 1: SOURCING
We spend hours dissecting the market for cars. We search many websites and other advertising platforms to find that hidden gem. When we look for a car to recycle, its got to be the right one. Each car we bring into Kernow Parts is special.
We specifically choose a car based on specification, condition and desirability. We want to make sure that the cars we recycle provide you with the parts you want and need.
STEP 2: COLLECTION
Once we’ve purchased a vehicle, a member of our team will plan in a time and date to go collect it.
We collect the vehicles ourselves. That way we take care in the transportation of the car and ensure nothing gets damaged in transport.
STEP 3: INSPECTION & TESTING
Once the vehicle is back at Kernow HQ, our skilled team will wash off the vehicle and get in on a ramp ready for inspection.
Our team will thoroughly go through the entire vehicle before any part is removed.
We test everything and anything on the vehicle. All our results are documented so we can be confident that all our parts and in good working order before we remove them from the vehicle.
STEP 4: DISMANTLE
With the vehicle fully inspected and tested, it’s time to take it apart!
Our workshop is split into designated bays. This allows us to keep everything from the vehicle we are working on together.
Our team take every care to remove all parts, including the nuts and bolts, with care.
Any parts that were deemed unfit for sale due to damage or were found to be faulty and recycled accordingly. This also goes for hazardous waste such as oil, coolant and screenwash.
STEP 5: CLEANING
Now the vehicle is in bits, we move on to cleaning everything ready for photographing and listing.
Our team are thorough in their cleaning.
Dirty seats, no problem… Brushed, vacuumed, freshened up! They get them looking like new!
Mucky oil filter housing, no problem… Good scrub in our parts washer and after a few minutes its gleaming!
Long story short, everything is lovely and clean, ready for you to fit straight on to your car.
STEP 6: CATALOGUE
Every part is photographed from multiple angles. Any imperfections are also photographed and recorded.
Each part is then assigned a SKU code and is entered our our database, powered by Eladene Systems. Once fully recorded, a warehouse location is allocated.
The parts are packaged and barcoded, ready to be stored away safely.
This process is hugely important as it ensures the item you see online, is the actual item you end up with, giving you full confidence in the part you are purchasing.
STEP 7: DISPATCH
Our work is nearly done at this point. Everything is tested, cleaned, photographed, advertised and stocked.
As we have been extra organised up to this point, we can see our orders the following morning, pick the parts off the shelf and get them dispatched the same day!
